ROCKCLIFF GIRLS
Welcome to the Rockcliff Girls section.
Intro
Rockcliff’s girls section was established at the start of the 2008/2009 season, where the teams coaching staff have worked towards developing rugby for girls aged 12-18 and have 2 teams to cover the age group i.e an U15’s and U18’s team.
Within Rockcliff’s squad they have 7 players that have representing Northumberland County and the Northeast Regional teams during the 2008/2009 season. Three of which got into the under 18s HPA (High Performance Academy) trials this year, which is a great achievement for them. The team are hoping to maintain this standard and improve upon it.
For the 2009/2010 season Rockcliff have formed a cluster group with Tynedale RFC and Ponteland RFC for both U15’s and U18’s to form a combined team called Tyne Valley. The combined teams will train together and compete in matches throughout the season, please see fixture page for more details.Any girls interested in playing rugby are more then welcome, the teams training sessions are based around having fun and learning at the same time. The teams train every Tuesday night from 6.00pm til 7.30pm, more details are shown in the Training section.
Training
Coaching is provided by Cat, Lesley and Tony who are the main contact for the girls team. They are all qualified coaches with a number of years experience between them. The team also have other qualified coaches that can help out with specific skills.
